Dental Care

Dental maintenance is an often-overlooked aspect of caring for your pet. Just like humans, pets should have their teeth and gums regularly cleaned and examined by a professional. Unfortunately, most pet owners do not provide the recommended level of care, as approximately 70 percent of dogs and cats develop some type of preventable dental condition by the time they are three years old. By providing some basic dental maintenance for your pet, you can greatly reduce the chances of this occurring, and you can help to ensure that your pet will experience excellent oral health for many years to come. In addition to providing professional dental maintenance, pet owners should also make sure to care for their pet’s teeth while they are at home. This process involves conducting a thorough brushing, just like you would provide for your own teeth.

When your pet experiences a severe problem with its teeth, gums, or oral structures, it may be necessary for us to perform oral surgery. Our veterinary experts are highly trained in providing oral surgeries for pets, and we take great pride in offering top-quality procedures that utilize state-of-the-art equipment in order to achieve the best possible results. Additionally, we always make animal comfort a top priority, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your pet experiences an easy and fast recovery. By choosing Quivira Crossing Veterinary Clinic for your pet’s oral surgery, you are sure to put them back on the right track for outstanding health.

Ultrasound

With our ultrasound machine, we are able to view what is happening inside your pet in real-time. We can monitor blood flow to organs, examine their exact location and shape, and look for any abnormalities such as fluid buildup or masses. Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases.

Digital Diagnostic Imaging

Digital diagnostic imaging allows Drs. Feyerabend and their team to obtain a detailed view of an animal’s internal structure. This is often helpful for locating injuries or problems that are not immediately visible. In many cases, it is the only way to determine exactly why a pet is demonstrating unusual behavior or signs of pain.

Soft Tissue Surgery

A soft tissue surgery refers to any surgical procedure that does not deal with the bones or joints. An animal may need soft tissue surgery for many different reasons, such as repairing muscle tissue, having a tumor removed or even for a simple spay or neuter procedure. At Quivira Crossing Veterinary Clinic, we will do everything we can to help your pet feel as comfortable as possible while we provide the treatment that they need. With the expertise and experience of Drs. Feyerabend and their trusted team on your pet’s side, they are sure to receive top-quality treatment and have the best chance of a full recovery. All surgeries are conducted using top-quality equipment in order to achieve the best possible results.

Pain Management

One of our top goals at Quivira Crossing Veterinary Clinic is to eliminate any physical pain that your pet may be experiencing. This can be a challenge due to the fact that an animal is unable to tell us about their pain. Fortunately, Drs. Feyerabend are highly trained in detecting areas of pain or discomfort and responding with the most appropriate type of treatment and therapy. Pet owners should always be on the lookout for any signs that their pet is experiencing pain. If you have reason to believe that your pet is suffering from chronic pain, it is strongly advised that you schedule an appointment as soon as possible, as the pain may continue to get worse over time.

Wellness Examinations

One of the most important things that you can do for your pets is to ensure they receive regular wellness examinations. A wellness examination for a pet is like a routine checkup for people. Depending on the age and health of your pet, a wellness examination may only be necessary once per year; however, older pets or those with health issues may need to be seen more often. Our veterinary experts will carefully consider the age and overall health of your pet and make a professional recommendation regarding when you should plan on bringing them in for their next wellness examination.

Preventive Care

Preventive care for pets involves performing certain treatments and processes that are designed to prevent more serious issues from occurring later. Drs. Feyerabend will discuss these options during your pet’s wellness examination and explain the benefits that are associated with them.

One of the most common types of preventive treatments for pets consists of a laboratory diagnostic. This process involves taking a sample of your pet’s blood, urine, skin, hair or stool in order to obtain a better understanding of their current health. The results can usually be obtained within a few days, and they can reveal issues that might not be immediately noticeable through a basic wellness examination.

Laboratory Testing

Laboratory tests are very important for catching internal issues affecting your pet that may not be noticeable or detected during a regular examination. Using blood, hair, skin, urine or stool, we can receive results that will provide us with information about your pet’s health. If any issues are present, these results will provide a much clearer picture of what is occurring, and we will be able to best proceed from there.

Sick Care

It can be a very nerve-wracking situation when your pet is showing signs of illness, especially since there may be no easy way for you to figure out what exactly is wrong. Any time your pet is sick, you will want to closely monitor their symptoms. Problems like limping, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, unusual behavior and anything else out of the ordinary should be taken very seriously, especially if the issue is persistent. Since your pet’s natural instinct may be to try and hide these conditions, the fact that you’ve recognized an issue can often mean that something is seriously wrong; therefore, it is strongly advised that you set up an appointment with us as soon as you can.

Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic surgery is recognized as any surgical procedure in which the goal of the procedure is to repair a bone or joint. Drs. Feyerabend and their team at Quivira Crossing Veterinary Clinic are highly trained in performing orthopedic surgery, and we will make sure to provide the best possible treatment and care for your pet. All of our orthopedic surgeries are conducted using top-of-the-line equipment and materials in order to provide the most effective treatment for your pet.
